| Nothing else on the market has the features of our Panther line. |
1. We use Microprocessor technology which puts us out in front of the others that are still using 1970's technology.
2. There's no need for any special load equalizers to operate your signals as running lights.
3. Different operating functions are available in one single unit. There's no need to purchase separate units for steady lights or flashing or
wigwag or different flash speeds, etc. You simply select a program.
4. You don't lose the the use of turn signals operated independently of our unit by the bikes signal system. This is built in as a safety feature. |
"Programmable SMT circuit design"©
(Here's something you should read)
There are some important design features that separate a Kriss brake flasher from the others on the market, especially the cheaply priced units. We use a programmable microprocessor to control the circuit operation rather than the ancient binary counter design. Granted the binary design is much cheaper to build but it doesn't offer different programs that can be changed by the user. Our circuit board design incorporates Surface Mount Technology (SMT) just the like the motherboard in your computer rather than a "Through Hole" design. If you've ever seen an older style circuit board with the component leads bent down and inserted through the little hole and soldered this is through hole assembly. One of the main drawbacks to through hole is that the component leads tend to break when subjected to vibration. Of course we have vibration from the road and other sources when dealing with motorcycles. For this reason it's necessary to encapsulate through hole circuits in a hard resin based material to reduce the effects of vibration. This works well enough but prevents repair or component replacement should the circuit suffer from some minor electrical damage if connected improperly. In effect, these are what's considered throw away products. The resin potting also serves the purpose of drawing heat away from the circuit (heat sinking) which is needed for the transistors associated with Cmos binary circuits. Our brake flasher lasts much longer, almost indefinitely, because we use a mosfet design that runs cold and doesn't generate life shortening heat like the others. Our flashers are built on the same design as our high power headlight modulators
| Our Panther units DO NOT use "load equalizers" (load multipliers) which prevent you from using hazard flashers or your security system. See product information below for more details. |

All of our rear signal units are normally used on stock single contact signal bulbs or LED's.
Kriss "Easy TouchWire Programming" © (programming internal code is simple, being accomplished at the unit, by touching a wire to +12 volts and doesn't require any external hardware or computer)
Our different programs give you the flexibility to change to any of the following options. You can choose any or several of these options in combination at any time.
Here's a sample of just a couple of the program options you can choose. The rear signals flash when braking. Signals operate as running lights when not braking.
Different Signal Programs - 15 choices
Kriss 4x4 sequence. (this is factory setting)
Apply the brakes and signals wigwag four times then changing to four flashes, then steady ON until the brakes are released.
Running light operation - On or Off. (factory setting is On)
Signals (brake operation) - On (steady).
Signals (brake operation) - 2 sec. flash.
Signals (brake operation) - Short wigwag for several seconds and then On.
Signals (brake operation) - Constant wigwag left and right .
Flash rates of fast or slow.
Everything in one unit. Ours is the only running light unit that offers you these operating choices in a single small unit. Any of the programs can be selected at anytime you want to make a change.
Easily make turn signals operate as running lights, brake lights or both. As running lights they operate at reduced intensity consistent with running lights. This also protects the lamp housings from excessive heat.
Load Equalizers are NOT USED or required with Panther units. Our units aren't dependent on high loads to operate. The others available on the market are built for low cost mass marketing and don't use microprocessor controlled solid state mosfet circuits like those used in the engineering designs of Kriss units. They use a load equalizer to create increased load on the factory flashers and make the bulbs illuminate. These load equalizers "multipliers" increase current flow through the bulb filaments and significantly increase power consumption by creating large amounts of heat when the current is wasted directly to frame ground. When a load equalizer is installed your turn signals cannot be used with stock or aftermarket hazard flashers, as part of a security system or with our Panther systems because the high electrical loads applied across both circuits by the load equalizer (load multiplier) will burn up the flasher.
Release the brake mid-cycle and the flash cycle immediately stops. It does not have to complete the cycle.
Standard bulbs and LED's can be operated by our running light flasher.
Automatically performs a visual self test each time you start the motorcycle.
Turn signals still operate normally. The unit automatically turns off when signals are in use to avoid confusion.
Does not require any mechanical changes to the bulbs or require adding double sockets and added wiring.
There's nothing extra to buy. All wire terminals and connectors are included.
The latest in miniaturization offers a small, totally solid state, rugged unit that will fit easily most motorcycles. It's only 1½" x 1½" x ¾".

NOTE: If your motorcycle has a security system it's necessary to use our Alarm System Isolator. Our Security/Alarm System Isolator removes the added circuit capacitance of signal light accessories when you turn off the ignition switch. This allows normal activation of the alarm system. The isolator is sold for $19.95 when purchased at the same time of ordering the Panther unit otherwise it's sold separately for $39.95. (sorry, no exceptions)
The Kriss engineering design incorporates the latest technology setting us apart from others by allowing the light to continue working in the event the unit ever failed. It also has other safety features when the turn signals are operating that are unique to the Kriss design.
