The Panther Product Group

"Better built" since 1986
Products that work the first
time and last a lifetime.

We build it in the USA.
Products that serve you well, every day.

Our modern circuit board design is the
same used in the space programs
to protect against vibration damage.

The electrical industry doesn't usually
grant a warranty because of possible
misuse, overload or improper connection.

We could offer a 5 year or 10 year but to be realistic we offer a one year warranty and want you to know that our products have a record of lasting for many years, - even decades.
This isn't by accident but by design.
Here's our proof.

For the person who wonders what's the difference between that $40 brake flasher compared to ours it's a real simple answer. Rather than 1970's circuitry still in use today that just flashes we use modern technology microprocessors so over the years you're really getting more stable operation with digital control for reliability and almost unlimited features. So you're really getting 6 different brake flashers.
Really no comparison!

You get what you pay for - it's pretty clear.

"Programmable SMT circuit design"© (Here's something you should read)
There are some important design features that separate a Kriss brake flasher from the others on the market, especially the cheaply priced units. We use a programmable microprocessor to control the circuit operation rather than the ancient binary counter design. Granted the binary design is much cheaper to build but it doesn't offer different programs that can be changed by the user. Our circuit board design incorporates Surface Mount Technology (SMT) just the like the motherboard in your computer rather than a "Through Hole" design. If you've ever seen an older style circuit board with the component leads bent down and inserted through the little hole and soldered this is through hole assembly. One of the main drawbacks to through hole is that the component leads tend to break when subjected to vibration. Of course we have vibration from the road and other sources when dealing with motorcycles. For this reason it's necessary to encapsulate through hole circuits in a hard resin based material to reduce the effects of vibration. This works well enough but prevents repair or component replacement should the circuit suffer from some minor electrical damage if connected improperly. In effect, these are what's considered throw away products. The resin potting also serves the purpose of drawing heat away from the circuit (heat sinking) which is needed for the transistors associated with Cmos binary circuits. Our brake flasher lasts much longer, almost indefinitely, because we use a mosfet design that runs cold and doesn't generate life shortening heat like the others. Our brake flashers are built on the same design as our high power headlight modulators.

Kriss "Easy TouchWire Programming" © (programming internal code is simple, being accomplished at the unit, by touching a wire to +12 volts and doesn't require any external hardware or computer)
Our different programs give you the flexibility to change to any of the following options. You can choose any or several of these options in combination at any time.
A short 2 sec. flash period then ON steady.
Constant flash while braking.
Select between fast and slow flash rates.
California mode: Four flashes of the light within a maximum period of 4 sec. and
then remaining on steady until brakes are released. (reqd. under Calif. regulations)
Our Special "Keep your distance" sequence that's active and repeats over and over as long as the brakes are applied. It has 4 rapid flashes followed by
a long 3.5 sec. steady bright and then starts again. (factory setting)
Operates only the brake light. Does not have any connection to or effect on the turn signals.
This flasher works with incandescent bulbs as well as LED's
Standard bulbs or LED's can be operated with our brake light flasher. Maximum rating is 60 watts (5 amps).
There's nothing extra to buy. All wire terminals and connectors are included.
The latest in miniaturization offers a small, totally solid state, rugged unit that will fit easily most motorcycles. It's only 1½" x 1½" x ¾".
Heavy Duty Version (100 watts) - This option is used primarily with higher wattage bulbs than stock bulbs or multiple bulbs but still works with the lower wattage bulbs. If using stock bulbs the heavy duty brake flasher is certainly going to be operating with reduced load requirements across the mosfets helping to extend operational life even longer. (Heavy Duty model is an additional $10.00)
Installation is simple because the unit is connected directly in line with, and powered by, the brake light circuit wire.

This is what we do build.
Why we don't build a plug and play unit. Shown on the right is what would be required to build a plug and play flasher. It's necessary to build what's called a breakout harness that connects in between the OEM male and female plugs that carry the brake light, taillight, turn signals and ground. The three breakout wires would then connect to our flasher. Not only is this added expense but the greatest problem is that separate units would be required for every make and model motorcycle on the road with a "very significant" price increase. We prefer to keep our design universal and simple.
This is what we don't build.

The Kriss engineering design incorporates the latest technology setting us apart from others by allowing the light to work normally in the event of unit failure.
